If you thought Samsung doesn't care about its mid-range devices when it comes to updates, you might want to think again. Just a few days after updating the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 to KitKat (albeit only in the US), Samsung is beginning to roll out the KitKat update to the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, a device that launched in June last year and is making a jump from Android 4.2.2 to 4.4.2. The update is currently rolling out in France to the Wi-Fi-only model with build number T310XXUBNE9, and should be making its way to other regions in the coming days, bringing the standard KitKat goodness (better performance, wireless printing support, white status bar icons, and more.)
As always, the update can either be downloaded over the air, through Kies, or from our firmware section if you like to live life on the edge and update manually. The update will take a few days to reach everyone, which is pretty much standard for any software update (though you can try to force it to show up early from the Settings » About tablet » Software updates menu.)
