After a plethora of speculation and leaks, Samsung has finally made the Galaxy Alpha official, today. After checking out the gorgeous press shots of the Alpha, we really wanted the wallpaper Samsung was using on the device. Luckily, our sources had sent us a few Alpha test firmwares in the past. So, what we did was that we managed to extract the official wallpapers from the firmwares and made them available for you folks to download.
The Galaxy Alpha is the first device to feature Samsung's “new materials” approach, and it really does look stunning. Samsung has made the core construction of the device out of aluminium, while still retaining the same perforated soft-touch plastic back cover, as seen on the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Tab S. We at SamMobile think that this is the perfect balance of plastic and metal on a device, as the metal sides give a premium and solid look, while the plastic back helps with the ergonomics.
The device sports a 4.7-inch HD (1280×720) Super AMOLED display, an Exynos 5430 SoC, Hexa-core Mali-T628 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 12-megapixel main camera sensor, 2.1-megapixel front facing camera sensor and 32GB of internal storage, which isn’t user expandable as there is no MicroSD card slot available on the device. The Alpha also sports a fingerprint scanner and a heart-rate sensor. Out of the box, the device comes with Android 4.4.4 KitKat and Samsung’s latest Magazine UX.
