Samsung's S Pen stylus has never been as good as it is on the Galaxy Note 4, with the device coming with a stylus that has double the pressure points and increased sensitivity compared to the S Pen that accompanied the Galaxy Note 3 last year. However, the Korean manufacturer thinks there's room for more improvement, and toward that end, it has launched the new Advanced S Pen. Showed off at Samsung's developer conference in San Francisco, the Advanced S Pen has double the sensitivity of the current S Pen (the one on the Note 4), and recognizes things like speed, tilt and rotation. It also features advanced editing functions, and will offer life-like handwriting recognition.
The Advanced S Pen will work with the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge, and will be accompanied by an updated S Pen SDK so developer can take advantage of the new and improved stylus. It would be interesting to see just how improved the Advanced S Pen is, considering the Note 4 already comes with quite an accurate and sensitive stylus, and it will be equally interesting to see just how developers take advantage of its new capabilities. The Advanced S Pen will likely be sold as an accessory on Samsung's official website, though it remains to be seen what price it will command whenever it becomes available.
