It is widely expected that Samsung will unveil its next-generation flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6, during its event at MWC 2015. Samsung is not only working on the hardware, it is also focussing on the software of the device. Samsung is allegedly trying to optimise TouchWiz on the Galaxy S6 to be as smooth as stock Android on the Nexus 6. Now, we have learned that Samsung will also be collaborating with VISA to boost Samsung Pay, an Apple Pay competitor. It will also work with McAfee in protecting its users from things like spyware, spam, and viruses.
This could mean that any card issued by VISA would be automatically compatible with Samsung Pay. Samsung has collaborated with PayPal in the past, with users having the option to authorize PayPal payments using the fingerprint sensor found on devices like the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Alpha. In case you missed it, Samsung will also be implementing a touch-based fingerprint sensor in the Galaxy S6 instead of a swipe-based sensor. This should make Samsung Pay even more intuitive, when combined with whatever features the company will be including in collaboration with VISA.
The South Korean giant is trying all it can this time to improve its image in the smartphone industry after its profits, revenue and market share plummeted. The Galaxy S6 is internally being referred as Project Zero, as it is being built from scratch. It might feature a metal and glass design, a QHD Super AMOLED display, an octa-core Exynos 7420 processor, 3GB/4GB RAM, improved TouchWiz based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, and LTE Cat. 10 connectivity.
