In a development that might not please a lot of Galaxy Note 8.0 users (especially those from the Middle East) it has been apparently learnt that the device would not be getting a Lollipop update. The news comes not in the form of an update or a press release, but instead in the form of a response to a user's comment on Samsung Gulf's Facebook.
“…unfortunately the device you have mentioned (i.e., Galaxy Note 8.0) won't get the Lollipop update. Have a great day” is what Samsung Gulf chose to respond with, when asked when the Galaxy Note 8.0 would get the update. I'm not yet certain if the part about the poster having a great day was a genuine wish or sarcasm!
Please note this doesn't mean that the device won't get Lollipop in other regions. Samsung Denmark made it clear in an update some time back that updates can vary from market to market, and it is possible that Lollipop for the Note 8 does get through for a certain regions.
