Samsung official says the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are selling well

Is Samsung's business really imploding? If we go by the sales of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, then that might not be the case. An unnamed Samsung executive has told The Korea Times that the two Galaxy S6 flagships are selling well and that the sales are meeting the company's internal target. According to the official, 305,000 units of both devices are being sold every day since they went up for sale, more than 124,000 and 241,000 units of the Galaxy S5 and S4 respectively.

Samsung is yet to officially reveal how much the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge units it has sold, but is expected to do so next month. A report last month had said that shipments of the Galaxy S6 lineup had reached 10 million units, but didn't offer concrete information on exactly when that shipment figure had been reached. Samsung has always been pretty quick at announcing when its flagships reach a particular sales milestone, but its silence on the matter regarding the S6 and S6 edge suggest things might not be going that fast, though that could possibly be because the company is selling two different flagship smartphones at the same time and wants to individually confirm sales figures for each.
