International Galaxy S6 edge (SM-G925F) getting Android 5.1.1 update as well

Firmware

Last updated: June 22nd, 2015 at 11:07 UTC+02:00

We were surprised to see the Android 5.1.1 update for the Galaxy S6 wasn't accompanied by an update for the Galaxy S6 edge earlier today, as both devices have received updates at the same time before this. But it seems the delay was very slight, as the Android 5.1.1 update has now shown up for the curvy Galaxy S6 and is currently rolling out over Kies. An over the air version will no doubt go live very soon, and you can start checking if it's available by hitting the Check now button in the Settings » About device » Software updates menu on your Galaxy S6 edge.

You can also download the firmware from our firmware database – it wouldn't usually be long before an update's availability would spread to more regions, though with Android 5.1.1 a somewhat major update, it could be a couple of weeks before every region gets it.
