It all started a couple of weeks ago when it was discovered that Android has a vulnerability called Stagefright which can allow attackers to gain access to a target's device by simply sending a MMS message with a video that has the malicious code embedded in it. Google was quick to push a fix but it inevitably got held up at OEM partners are carriers. In the United States Sprint was the first carrier to get this patch out the door and then AT&T followed, Verizon released this update just a few hours ago. Last but not the least T-Mobile is also rolling out this update now.

T-Mobile is rolling out software version N910TUVU1COG2 for the Galaxy Note 4, version N915TUVU1BOG2 for the Galaxy Note Edge and version G900TUVU1FOG6 for the Galaxy S5. The changelog mentions that the update brings “messaging security improvements,” particularly a fix for the Stagefright vulnerability. It's only a matter of time before this update is also released for more recent models like the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge. Users can download this update through Samsung Kies or wait for the OTA file to arrive which shouldn't take too long.
