After unveiling its high-end phablets a few weeks ago, the company launched the Galaxy S6 edge+ in India without much fanfare. This led to confusion as to whether Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note 5 in India, but we reported exclusively that the company could launch the device at a later stage in India. Now, Samsung has put those rumours to bed by launching the Galaxy Note 5 in India.

The Galaxy Note 5 comes with a starting price of INR 53,900 (~ $810), and the device will be available starting from September 20. The 64GB variant of the device will be sold with a price tag of INR 59,900 (~ $899). The device will be available in three colors – Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, and Silver Titanium – from all the major online as well as brick-and-mortar stores across India. Consumers who pre-book the device will receive a wireless charger and one-time screen replacement for free.

Just as a refresher, the Galaxy Note 5 features a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based TouchWiz UX, an Exynos 7420 processor, 4GB RAM, 32/64GB internal storage, 4G LTE (Cat. 6) connectivity, and a 3,000 mAh battery. The imaging department is taken care by a 16-megapixel primary camera with F/1.9 aperture and 4K video recording, and a 5-megapixel secondary camera.

The South Korean smartphone giant announced that all its smartphones that are sold in India are manufactured locally under the ‘Make in India' campaign. During the event, Manu Sharma, Samsung India Director, stated that the Galaxy Note 5's Live Video Broadcast feature has been developed by engineers at the company's research and development centre in India.
