The S Pen on Samsung's Galaxy Note devices is an amazing tool. A stylus hasn't been the primary method of interaction with mobile devices for a long time now, but the S Pen complements regular touch input by enabling users to get the most out of their Galaxy Note. From doodling in your spare time and jotting down something quickly to using it for faster typing (try using the S Pen for swiping text on your Galaxy Note next time, you'll see how faster it can really be), the S Pen continues to set the Note line apart from all the phablets in the market.

But while the S Pen is a handy tool, not everyone uses it regularly or takes advantage of all the functionality it offers. Some people even forget the S Pen exists, or only remove it from its slot once in a blue moon. For me, using the S Pen to type is a regular thing, but what I use it for most is for copy and pasting snippets of text.

Not the normal copy pasting routine, which can be easily done with your finger, but the one where you need to copy text that the OS doesn't let you copy. For example, the messaging app doesn't let you do anything but copy the entire message, but I can press and hold the button on the S Pen and manually select the part I want (like the numerical password for a bank transfer).

Selecting particular snippets of text also comes in handy on social networking apps like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, since almost all messaging apps only let you pick up an message in its entirety. Another example is in retailer apps – there are a lot of instances where I find a product on a particular retailer's app, then copy the model number of that product to search for its reviews on Google or search for the product on another online store's app (either for a better price or for faster delivery options.) This is something these apps wouldn't generally allow you to do, but the stylus makes it possible.

It might not sound like much, especially to those who never use the S Pen, but the fact is that I regularly take out the S Pen to manually highlight selective text. I'm sure there are many out there that like this feature as much as I do, and of course, there have to be a lot of folks who use the S Pen for many of the other functions a Galaxy Note comes bundled with.

So tell us, Galaxy Note users: How do you put the S Pen to use? Doodling? Copy pasting text? Jotting down numbers and addresses and other details? Let us know through the poll below, and through the comments section!
