A new flip phone from Samsung was certified by TENAA last week, it appeared that the SM-W2016 would feature high-end specifications and a premium build not unlike that of the Galaxy S6. Samsung today made the W2016 official, it has been released for China Mobile under this moniker and it does feature impressive specifications housed in a chassis fitted with glass and metal. Also released in China today is the Samsung Galaxy J3⑥ which looks quite similar to the Galaxy J5.
The W2016 has two 3.9-inch Super AMOLED displays with 1280 x 768 pixel resolution, under the hood there is a 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 processor with 3GB RAm and 64GB of internal storage. The headset also has a 16-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front camera, it runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Its 2000mAh battery is packed in a chassis that measures 120.4 x 61 x 15.1 mm and weighs 204 grams. The use of metal and glass lend a premium look and feel to the device, the W2016 is certainly going to be very appealing for those who love clamshell phones and yet would not mind having high-end specs with a premium build. It's unlikely that this handset will be widely released since there aren't many markets left across the globe where flip phones still sell in large numbers, with the exception of China and some other countries in Asia.
