Samsung has made its latest flagships available in the Indian market today, as promised by the company at the S7 and S7 edge's official launch in the country. The two devices are now available from local stores, and through Samsung's online store and through retailer Flipkart, at a price of Rs. 48,900 ($733) and Rs. 56,900 ($855). Online retailers like Amazon are expected to start selling the S7 and S7 edge in India in the coming weeks.
To refresh your memory, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge feature 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED displays, an Exynos 8890 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 12-megapixel rear camera with Dual Pixel technology, a 5-megapixel front shooter, fingerprint sensors, and 3,000 and 3,600 mAh batteries. The Indian variants have a hybrid SIM slot, and both phones run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. Like we reported yesterday, Samsung is conveniently pushing out the Marshmallow update to last year's Galaxy S6 lineup in the country on the same day as the S7 and S7 edge's retail availability.
Indian consumers can pick up the devices in gold, silver or black at the source links or at their nearest store. Don't forget to check out our Galaxy S7 edge review, and let us know if you're picking up the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge.
