Samsung has today launched a new wireless charger in Russia. However, unlike like the firm's previous spherical Qi charging docks, this latest model takes the form of a tray, which the company claims can “harmoniously fit into any decor.” We'll leave you to be the judge of that, though, as its appearance almost certainly won't tickle everyone's fancy.
Fortunately, there's a method behind the sheer madness of the EP-PA710 wireless charger's design. As you can see in the image above, the dock itself sports two platforms — one rectangular and one circular. Both of these pads have Qi charging technology embedded; meaning that the unit can simultaneously wirelessly charge two smartphones.
You may have noticed that there are two ports on the side of the device, too. One's a slot for a USB Type-C AC Adapter, which provides the unit with power from the mains, while the other is a traditional USB port that can be used to charge a third device via a charging cable. This means that the EP-PA710 is capable of charging three handsets at a time: two wirelessly and one wired.
Unfortunately, no pricing information was provided in the listing on Samsung Russia's website, but we'll be sure to update this post as soon as the price tag is disclosed — so be sure to check back.
