The S Pen on the Galaxy Note 7 cannot be inserted the wrong way

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 got some flak last year after some users discovered that the S Pen stylus could go in the wrong way and potentially damage the innards of the device.

It’s clear that Samsung will have none of that this year as the S Pen stylus on the Galaxy Note 7 doesn’t go in unless inserted correctly. In fact, the stylus stops at about the 2-3mm mark when you try to put it back the wrong way. So there’s very little chance of damaging the S Pen silo while using the S Pen.

We should also consider the fact that the S Pen, this time, is IP68 certified water resistant as well. This makes it even more durable compared to the predecessor. One would say that the Galaxy Note 7 is now somewhat idiot-proof.

Reports of faulty S Pen silos on the Galaxy Note 5 started making the rounds shortly after the device was released. Samsung went into damage control mode and made some simple suggestions to those affected by this issue, while some user discovered tweaks also started flooding online portals.

The issue became so widespread that Samsung started offering warning labels with new models. Following more reports of this, Samsung made some under the hood tweaks to the design of the smartphone.
