It appears the Samsung Galaxy S3 will not be unveiled at MWC 2012.
Samsung stated to TechRadar that the succesor of the Galaxy S2 (I9100), will have its own unveiling event and will not appear on MWC 2012.
It was planned to launch at the flagship event in Barcelona but as mentioned before it will get its own separate event surrounding only the Galaxy S 3.
“Samsung is excited in introducing and demonstrating their new mobile products. As always Samsung stays committed to providing the best mobile experience to users around the world.”
For the die-hard Android fan this will be a it of a shock since this new device should have picked up and upgraded their Android experience where they left off with the Galaxy S2.
The Galaxy S3 should come with a larger screen, faster processor and interresting “next gen” content
A sidenote to the fact that Samsung is looking to launch the phone closer to “commercial release” could be that there is a delay in the manufacturing process. Another possibility is that they want to check out their newest rival the iPhone 5 wich should launch around july of this year.
Nonetheless its a dissapointing thought and even pertrifying to know Apple and Samsung will be going head to head again.
Samsung:
“Samsung is looking forward to introducing and demonstrating exciting new mobile products at Mobile World Congress 2012. The successor to the Galaxy S2 smartphone will be unveiled at a separate Samsung-hosted event in the first half of the year, closer to commercial availability of the product.”
