Week after The Galaxy S3 release this is what I think of it.
I am with Samsung phones from the D-500, you know with that funny little speaker thing you got with it. Then I proceeded to the D-800 without the speaker, but the most beautiful slide phone at that time. I unfortunately broke the display, so I made a small side step to the Nokia N-97. My god that was one horrible phone, but yes I had to sing it out a little longer till my contract had expired. Almost rat the end of my contract, it was suddenly there, the Galaxy S!!
I found it the best phone I've ever seen, with its Super AMOLED screen and beautiful design. Though there are many of you that will disagree. I saw the benefits of that phone it was light and durable. When I got home I immediately went searching for updates. I came across it so called SamFirmware. I went right to the flash, since it was done, my true love Samsung was created. From that day I knew for sure no other phones than Samsung phones for me.
After a year with the S1, I have gotten my girlfriend so far to get a Galaxy S2 on her contract, so that I could use it and she could use my old Galaxy S. She did not care about phones anyway. After I got the Galaxy S2 in my possession, I thought it could it be even better than this. The speed of the phone was phenomenal, it was very light and also the Super AMOLED Plus screen. The first Amoled screen to use RGB matrix. It was the most beautiful screen I ever laid my eyes on.
When I just thought everything could not be better, there suddenly was the Galaxy Note. I didn't know what I saw, I thought to my self I had to have that phone or tablet or what ever you call it. Now I own the Galaxy Note from November, and I think it's difficult for any phone whatsoever to deter me from the Galaxy Note.
Once you're used to that screen size, then it is difficult to use any type of smaller screen. So I was curious about the successor of the Galaxy S2. Would that keep me away from my awesome Galaxy Note. After several weeks of rumors that I had heard, I was sure the Galaxy S3 would make me forget my Galaxy Note. So we went to the London to got to the Samsung Unpacked Event of 2012.
There they showed it for the first time and I must admit it was disappointing! The back was the same as the Galaxy S1, so a step backwards in my eyes. No Full HD screen and still that Pentile Matrix. No Ceramic back as was suggested, so all in all a deal breaker for me. Now we are almost a week further. Do I still think the same way about it???
NO, I don't!! I think it's a daring design only the back I remain a pity. The screen is nicer than on my Note even though it is same sort screen. And yes boys it is PENTILE boys. We will need to accept the RGB matrix AMOLED screen with the desired resolution is not yet possible to produce. So deal with it!! AMOLED screens are in my eyes whatever matrix they use still Superior to any type of LCD screen whatsoever. And like those Ceramics, probably it is not possible to produce something like that at this time. So we will have to be patient.
We consumers are simply spoiled with technology, and in my opinion just want too much too fast!!
But Martin will you buy it yourself? No I'm waiting for the Note 2, because I'm sure that I wont leave my Note for the S3 even though I find it a great device. And now I'm waiting for the Note 2 and hopefully that will meet my expectations,or will they be too high again.
You may say!
