After facing a disappointment in the US court, Samsung has achieved an important legal victory against Apple in the UK. UK High Court has ruled that Samsung's Galaxy Tab range do not infringe Apple iPad's design patents, making the Galaxy Tab 10.1, 8.9 and 7.7 to remain on sale.
The Judge deemed Samsung's tablets “not as cool” as Apple's iPad and has a different design that makes it easily distinguishable from the iPad.
Samsung has welcomed the decision saying the “court found numerous Apple design features to lack originality, and numerous identical design features to have been visible in a wide range of earlier tablet designs from before 2004.”
Apple can appeal the decision within 21 days and going by Apple's stance against Samsung, the chances are very likely.
