Samsung Display's legal war with LG Display will finally come to an end as both companies have decided to settle it amicably. Both companies were entangled in a series of lawsuits where they alleged infringement of respective display technologies, even prompting the government to step in to resolve the matter.

The settlement details are under wraps but both companies have agreed to “focus more on cementing our leadership in the global market by cooperation, instead of engaging in all-consuming patent disputes”.

This is definitely good news for consumers as display technology has advanced by leaps and bounds in the last few years and considering if both these display giants can have access to patents via licensing, we can expect a breakthrough display technology in the coming years.
