Samsung brings Galaxy Trend Lite to Taiwan, expected price to be around $170

Samsung seems to be extending availability of the Galaxy Trend Lite – after launching the downgraded Galaxy Trend in Netherlands without any fanfare, Samsung has done the same in Taiwan as well, though the device doesn't actually seem to be available for purchase yet. It is expected to be priced at around NT$4990 (or USD 170), though that's an unofficial price at this point.

The Galaxy Trend Lite features a 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, a 3-megapixel camera on the back (there's no front-facing camera), 4GB of storage and a microSD slot, a 1,500mAh battery, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It's as entry-level as it gets, but for the price, it should be a nice option for those looking for a no-frills smartphone that doesn't burn a hole in their pockets.
