Well, news of cancellation of the Android 4.3 update's rollout continues to come in. After AT&T confirmed that the 4.3 update for the Galaxy S4 had been put on hold, US Cellular has done the same. US Cellular's Galaxy S4 started receiving the update on November 8th, which means a lot of folks are now stuck with a not-so-bug-free version of 4.3 on their device, but according to a statement given to Android Police, the update isn't rolling out anymore.
Here's the official statement.
We have suspended the release of the Android 4.3 upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy S 4 at the request of Samsung. This was a global decision made by Samsung and we are working with them on a new resubmission of the software and will have more details soon.
The words “global decision” would indicate why updates for the Galaxy S III have been put on hold as well – the updates for both the S III and S4 were clearly rushed before being tested properly, and according to SamMobile reader xonone, the update is no longer in circulation for the T-Mobile, Sprint or Verizon Galaxy S4 models either. Not good Samsung, sort things out quickly please.
