Apple's iPad will likely continue to dominate the tablet market sales in the U.S. for the foreseeable future, but during the recent holiday period, Samsung made substantial advances in its tablet sales. According to online publishing company Onswipe, which looked at which tablets visited its Onswipe optimized websites from December 26 through the 29th, Samsung tablets showed a growth of 50.4 percent compared to the period between December 19th through the 22nd.
However, the time spent by the device owners was down to 3 minutes and 9 seconds, down from 3 minutes 22 seconds in the previously recorded period, though this was most likely due to the fact that people were busy with their friends and relatives actually celebrating Christmas instead of staying glued to their mobile devices.
