Serial leakster @evleaks has done it again. This time around, he ousted images of the Galaxy Gear 2 and Galaxy Gear 2 Neo, two devices that Samsung was rumored to launch at the Mobile World Congress next week. Latest rumors regarding the Galaxy Gear 2 indicated that Samsung was considering a design overhaul for the device, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. The image does showcase devices that look similar to the original Galaxy Gear, and while they do feature a slimmer bezel, the design is reminiscent of that of the Galaxy Gear. From the naming convention, it looks like the Galaxy Gear 2 will be the flagship smartwatch, with the Galaxy Gear 2 Neo being the affordable version.
Samsung is said to be bringing a more robust feature set to both devices. The first-generation Galaxy Gear failed to find mainstream consumer attention because of its lacklustre feature set. Interestingly, both the Galaxy Gear 2 and Galaxy Gear 2 Neo look like they feature a small hardware button at the bottom of the watch face. Details as far as both devices are concerned aren’t known yet, but Samsung is set to kick off its MWC event in two days’ time, so at least we don’t have to wait long to find out.
Update 2: A new higher quality image of the Samsung Gear 2, in orange, has been posted by the leakster.
