PayPal uploaded a video to their YouTube page that showcases functionality offered by the PayPal app on the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo. Samsung announced at the launch of the smartwatches that focus will be on providing additional functionality, and it looks like they delivered. Users worried about the availability of content on the Tizen ecosystem have nothing to worry about, as Samsung confirmed that a host of utilities would be available for the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo by the time they launch.

One such utility is PayPal, which demoed all the functionality its app will offer. To start off with, you will be able to check your available balance directly from the smartwatch. In addition, you can also view your recent transaction history from the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo. The app also shows you deals and offers at nearby stores. Finally, you can check-in at an outlet to pay directly from the device. The whole idea behind a wearable device like a smartwatch is that it brings a certain amount of flexibility and ease of use, and with its official app on the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, PayPal has managed to do so. Is this the sort of functionality you were looking for in a smartwatch? Sound off in the comments below.
