After announcing the tablet for India last month, Samsung has officially started selling the 3G-enabled Galaxy Tab 3 Neo in the country for Rs. 16,750 ($275). There is no mention of the Wi-Fi only model’s availability and price. The Galaxy Tab 3 Neo is marketed as the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite in other territories. For a tablet that is labelled as the Lite version of the Galaxy Tab 3, it is strange that the Galaxy Tab 3 Neo costs the same as the cellular variant of the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0.
Hardware-wise, the Galaxy Tab 3 Neo isn’t all that different to the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, as both devices share a 7-inch 1024 x 600 screen, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage. They also feature the same set of connectivity options that include Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, GPS/ AGPS, GLONASS and 3G. The Galaxy Tab 3 Neo features a slightly lower 2 MP camera to the Tab 3’s 3.15 MP offering. The battery is also reduced from 4000 mAh on the Tab 3 to the 3600 mAh on the Tab 3 Neo.
