Leaks and rumors come in many forms, but today's leak about the Galaxy S5 zoom is rather unique in that in comes in the form of text jotted down on a piece of paper, supposedly at a presentation somewhere in Poland. The leak details many of the S5 zoom's specs, most of which were revealed through a benchmark last week, and also reveals a few new things. One major change the S5 zoom will apparently feature is a slimmer design compared to the Galaxy S4 zoom, thanks to a new internal zoom mechanism that will offer 10x optical zoom while reducing the thickness of the device.
The camera will be a 20-megapixel unit – the previous leak mentioned a 19-megapixel sensor, but it's possible the effective pixel resolution will be 20MP, especially if Samsung is using the same camera hardware as that on the NX mini. The processor is said to be a 1.6GHz quad-core chip while total RAM is supposedly 2GB; again, this is different from the 1.3GHz hexa-core processor and 1.5GB RAM listed in the benchmark, so it's unclear exactly which of these leaks is more believable (of course, we're leaning towards the previous one, because, you know, the latest details are mentioned on paper.)
Other specs of the Galaxy S5 zoom include a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display of 720p resolution, a Xenon flash, optical image stabilization, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The Galaxy S5 zoom is expected to be unveiled sometime in May, and we’ll be sure to let you know about any other details that might surface in the days to come, hopefully not as text someone may have scribbled during a boring lecture or press conference just to while away the time.
