Samsung announced a comprehensive list of devices the Gear 2, gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit are compatible with. One of the major drawbacks with last year’s Galaxy Gear was that the smartwatch only worked with the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition, thereby limiting its customer base. This time around, Samsung has announced that its latest batch of wearable devices will work with 12 Galaxy smartphones and 8 tablets. Users on compatible devices can download the latest versions of the Gear Manager or Gear Fit Manager utilities to connect their Galaxy device to their wearable devices.
The mobile devices that these wearables can connect to include Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3 Neo, Galaxy Grand 2, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 mini, Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy S4 Zoom, Galaxy Mega 6.3, Galaxy Mega 5.8, Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy SIII. The list of tablets include the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1, Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. In addition to the official list by Samsung, it has been discovered that you can use the Gear Fit on non-Samsung hardware like the Nexus 5 and HTC One (M8) (although in this scenario, certain features do not work).
