The Chromebook 2 went on pre-order this month and was originally scheduled to be available in retail locations next week. However, it looks like Samsung has pushed back the availability date of the Chromebook 2 in the US until the end of May. The reason for the delay is not known, but customers who ordered on Amazon received an e-mail stating that the device would be available only after the 15th of May. The Chromebook 2 series features Samsung’s Exynos octa-core CPU, 4 GB RAM, 16 GB SSD and a battery that lasts for over eight hours.
Samsung has launched two variants in the Chromebook 2 series: One version with a 11.6-inch screen and the other version with a 13.3-inch screen. The 11.6-inch version features a 1366 x 768 screen, while the 13.3-inch Chromebook 2 comes with a full-HD screen. The 11.6-inch model will be available for $319.99, while the 13.3-inch version will cost $399.99.
