The legal battle between Samsung and Apple could come to an end, according to a report by Korea Times. The Korean publication cites “people directly involved in the matter” and claims that both Samsung and Apple have resumed talks to settle their patent disputes out of court.
While the talks are going on for royalty payments and maybe cross-licensing to avoid future litigation, the source claims the “working-level” discussion's key agenda is “to dismiss all lawsuits.”
This is indeed good news for both the companies as the lawsuits haven't gone in either company's way as they had expected. In the most recent case in California, the court awarded just $120 million of the $2 billion claimed by Apple while also ruled for Apple to pay Samsung for infringing its patents.
Last week, Apple announced to settle all ongoing patent lawsuits with Google.
