The Galaxy Note II will begin receiving an update to Android 4.4.2 KitKat in the US starting today, with Sprint the first carrier to start rolling out the latest version of the OS to Samsung's second-generation flagship phablet. The software on the device will get a bump to version L900VPUBNE2, and the update will introduce features such as advanced location control, camera shortcut and full-screen album art on the lockscreen, KNOX 2.0, white status bar icons, wireless printing support, SMS and launcher app selection, expanded emoji icons, and performance improvements.
The update should begin streaming to devices later today, and reach everyone over the course of a week or two. Impatient souls can head into the Settings » General » About phone » Software updates menu to try and pull the update manually, though that might not work all the time.
