Samsung announced the Galaxy S5 mini at the beginning of this month, and the phone went up for pre-order in the UK soon after. Samsung failed to mention when the phone will actually start making its way to consumers, but that's not the case anymore – according to the Samsung UK site, the Galaxy S5 mini will start shipping from August 7, which is a little over a week away. UK consumers can pick up the device for £389.95 in black, white, gold and blue colors, and expect to have it in their hands before mid-August.
The Galaxy S5 mini retains the design of the standard S5 and fortunately carries over many of the marquee features that first appeared on the larger flagship; the heart rate monitor and fingerprint sensor are both present on the mini. The device has a 1280×720, 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display and runs on a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 3470 processor with 1.5GB RAM and a 2100mAh battery. The IP67 water and dust-resistant rating is also present, and makes this Android KitKat phone ready to take on the elements.
