We've seen some smartphones and tablets running full-fledged desktop operating systems but this is something really phenomenal. Corbin Davenport, a YouTube user has posted a video of the Android Wear powered Gear Live running Windows 95 operating system. Looking at the video, we can say that the experience of using Windows 95 is too far from pleasant but it ran quite fast until Davenport tried to open an app, after which the smartwatch ran out of RAM.

One thing to be noted here is that, the Gear Live smartwatch isn't running Windows 95 directly, but through a DOS emulator called aDosBox which is available for free on Android. Last week, Davenport published a video of Gear Live running DOOM, a famous PC game which was released back in 1993.

Samsung Gear Live no longer available from Google Play, probably discontinued

Samsung hasn't been very keen on Android Wear, but the company was still the first (along with LG) to launch a smartwatch running Google's OS for wearables. This watch was the Gear Live, which is basically a rehashed Gear that cut down on some features (like calling) thanks to Android Wear's limited nature. Needless to say, the […]
