After launching the Gear S in the US, the UK, and South Korea, Samsung started taking pre-orders for the Gear S in India last week through its official e-retail store. Starting today, the SIM card slot-equipped smartwatch can be purchased in India for INR 27,900 (~$454) through Samsung's official eStore and Amazon. The Tizen-based smartwatch, which is available in black and white colours, is one of the most expensive smartwatches available in the country. It features a 2-inch curved Super AMOLED screen, 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB storage, and a 300 mAh battery. It is also equipped with 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, and A-GPS. It has a host of other sensors such as accelerometer, UV sensor, and heart-rate monitor for tracking health and fitness related information.
