Windows Phone 8.1 has been out for a few months now, but carriers like Sprint have been taking it rather slow with pushing out the update to existing phones. Last month, AT&T's ATIV S Neo was updated to Windows Phone 8.1, and now the update is rolling out to owners of the device on Sprint's network. The update comes with firmware version 2216.14.11.2 in tow, and apart from the basic Windows Phone 8.1 update, doesn't have any additional changes or enhancements.
But that's not to say it isn't a big update, as Windows Phone 8.1 introduces a lot of new features that brings the OS closer to the competition. These features include a notification shade called the Action Center, the digital assistant Cortana, support for wallpapers and folders on the Start screen, swipe typing in the keyboard, updated Microsoft apps, VPN support, enhanced browsing, and various other minor changes. Expect the update to show up on your device in the next few days, though you can always speed up the process by doing a manual check in the Settings » Phone update menu.
