During the launch, Samsung had announced that it would treat the Galaxy Note Edge as a ‘limited edition concept device‘, but we've seen the device getting launched in almost all important markets. Now, it is being reported that the Note Edge might launch in India, where Samsung plans to maintain its lead in the country's growing smartphone market. According to a report from Economic Times, Samsung might launch the Galaxy Note Edge in India in January 2015 with a price tag of INR 68,500 (~ $1,080). The device has already been launched in Korea, Japan, the US, the UK, and Germany. It is Samsung's first smartphone with a curved edge screen, showing off the company's technological prowess when it comes to smartphone displays.
It features a 5.6-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display with curved edge, a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, a 16-megapixel camera with OIS and 4K video recording, and 4G LTE connectivity. Earlier this year, Samsung launched 4G LTE variant of the Galaxy S5 after carriers started rolling out 4G networks in the country. Asim Warsi, Vice President for Mobile and IT at Samsung India said, “India has always performed amongst the best in the world when it comes to flagship sales. India has one of the best Note attachments, therefore it is important that every evolution of Note comes early on in India.“
Update: Samsung has launched the Galaxy Note Edge in India with a price tag of INR 64,900 (~ $1023), which is lower than that of the earlier report. The Galaxy Note Edge will go on sale in India starting January 2015.
