During the event today for its new smartphones Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge have wireless charging built-in. Multi-standard support means that the two smartphones are compatible with all existing Qi chargers in the market straight out of the box. These include the 15 automobile models that have Qi chargers built-in, the 18 aftermarket automotive chargers, as well as countless Qi chargers available at popular locations like McDonald's outlets and Marriott hotels.
Samsung's new smartphones also support more than 300 styles of Qi-certified wireless chargers that are available for home and office use, such as the Qi Wireless Charging Stand from Verizon and the DT-903 Smart Wireless Charging Plate from Nokia. Clearly the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge will push wireless charging adoption to new heights.
