Samsung has announced a newer Gear VR virtual reality headset – the Gear VR Innovator Edition – which is specially optimised to be used with the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. The new headset, which is designed in collaboration with Oculus, similar to the Gear VR for the Galaxy Note 4, features a 96-degree field of view and three sensors – accelerometer, gyrometer, and proximity sensor. However, Samsung has been able to reduce the size of the headset's size by 15 percent in comparison to the previous one.

With the help of a relatively higher pixel-dense display of its latest flagship smartphone, Samsung claims that the new Gear VR Innovator Edition provides an unrivaled and immersive cinematic experience of pictures, videos, and games. Users can download content specially made for the Gear VR through the Oculus Store. It will be offered in Frost White, and can be connected to the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge with a microUSB connection. There is currently no information about its pricing or availability, but we will keep you updated on the matter.
