Samsung has increased its spending on setting up manufacturing bases around the world. According to a new report, Samsung is looking to set up a manufacturing facility in India as a part of Make In India initiative. The report mentions that Samsung is in talks with government to set up a smartphone and tablet manufacturing facility in the state of UP, with an investment anywhere between $500 million to $1 billion.

Samsung already has two manufacturing units in India, one in Noida, and the other in Tamil Nadu, and the Korean electronics giant is also considering the same locations for its upcoming plant. If you can remember, the company had revealed in January that it had invested around INR 517 crores to expand its smartphone manufacturing base in Noida and invested in modern training facility spread over 35,000 sq. feet to enhance skills and capabilities of its employees.
