Today, I say goodbye to the company I have been with since nearly its inception. It’s Faryaab Sheikh, the ex-Editor-in-Chief of SamMobile. I joined SamMobile when Danny Dorresteijn, founder, had just converted the world’s biggest Samsung firmware archive – SamFirmware – into SamMobile, which is now the world’s biggest online Samsung community with over 4 million members.
I was initially hired as a News Writer, then soon was promoted to the position of a Senior Editor, and exactly a year later, I was named the Editor-in-Chief of the publication. I still remember the times when I used to wake up at midnight just to publish the Jelly Bean update articles for Samsung devices, just so that we were the first ones to cover it. Thankfully, Samsung changed their update cycles to mornings after those Jelly Bean updates. Over the past few years, I have helped break some impressive exclusive news – I actually have an almost solid track record. There are two particular exclusives which are my favourite – leaking Android 4.3 Jelly Bean before it getting announced by Google, and revealing Samsung’s first ever virtual reality headset, Gear VR, to the world.
Why am I leaving? SamMobile is at a point where it’s doing better than ever before. It’s at its peak, there aren’t any alternatives to it, and no other Samsung community can match it. As Samsung grows, SamMobile will grow. So my job here is done! Now, I would like to explore new opportunities and challenges, and focus on my studies at the same time. What I’m taking away from SamMobile today are many best friends, knowledge and a tremendous amount of experience; all are priceless to me. The publication also gave me an opportunity to research deeply into Samsung, the company I have a lot of faith in.
I would like to take this moment and thank each and everyone of you guys, the readers, and the entire team at SamMobile – I wish you guys luck!

Faryaab began at SamMobile with impressive enthusiasm. He worked his way up to an important position within our website, and in recent years, Faryaab was our Editor-in-Chief at quite a young age. His contributions to SamMobile are immense, and his knowledge and enthusiasm for Samsung is something we are really going to miss.
Faryaab, on behalf of our entire team, we wish you success with your studies and the challenges you decide to take on in the years to come!
P.S.: Anytime you're back in the Netherlands, you know where to find our office!Danny Dorresteijn – Founder, SamMobile
