Samsung's “Next Big Thing” campaign resulted in a lot of consumers making the switch to the company's devices, but it was recently reported that the man behind this marketing campaign was leaving the company after four years. Now, a new report has surfaced in the Korean media, saying that Samsung may have found someone to take over its US marketing operations.

This man is reportedly Marc Mathieu, who is currently the senior vice president of global marketing at Unilever and has also served as brand marketing officer at Coca-Cola for 12 years. Samsung and Mathieu haven't confirmed anything yet, but the latter would certainly be a good choice to head what is possibly the most important marketing department for the Korean manufacturer, as it is only in the US that Samsung will need to be at its best for marketing the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge if it intends the two devices to give tough competition to Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Samsung has also reportedly courted top talent from the marketing industry for other departments, including Jay Altschuler (who also worked for Unilever) and P&G's Vince Hudson for its media and branding operations in the US.
