Samsung is already believed to have received some 20 million pre-orders from carrier partners for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge. Analysts expect that the company's latest flagships will end up performing quite well in the market. Samsung certainly needs them to after all the troubles that its mobile business has faced in the past year. A new report out of Korea suggests that sales of the new flagships will top 55 million units in 2015.
The report suggests that the Galaxy S6's advanced specifications and updated design will be instrumental in keeping the device in demand throughout the year. It's not like the Galaxy S6 won't face any tough competition. HTC One M9 is already trying to steal its thunder. LG is coming out with the G4 next month. The iPhones are currently dominating the high-end market so Samsung certainly has its work cut out.
Samsung is expected to sell 22.2 million units of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge in the second quarter of 2015. In the third quarter it's now forecasted to sell 16.2 million units. The fourth quarter might close out the year with 12.5 million units being sold.
