Samsung India has released an incremental update for the Galaxy S4 (I9500) in the country. The core OS version remains at Android 5.0.1 even though it has been a couple of weeks since Google released Android 5.0.2. This is an incremental update that comes in just north of 300MB. It doesn't bring any major changes or any new features. However it does make some minor changes under the hood.
The Knox security suite has been upgraded from version 1.0 to version 2.0 in this update. It brings an improved user interface, two-factor biometric authentication, TrustZone-Protected Certificate Management, support for apps from the Google Play Store, better device integrity from kernel to app and other enhancements. The “Interruptions” mode that was introduced with the Lollipop update has now been removed. Mute mode is back for the Galaxy S4 (I9500) with this update.
