Android users might have heard by now that a new WhatsApp update is rolling out which enables the voice calling feature for everybody. They will no longer need someone who has voice calling activated to call them first just so they can get the feature too. There's good news for people you use the Samsung Z1. WhatsApp for Tizen has also received an update and it too brings the voice calling feature.
Samsung Z1 users will now notice three tabs in WhatsApp, one each for Calls, Contacts and Chats. It doesn't take more than a couple of taps to call a contact. Currently users can only call contacts that either have the Samsung Z1 or an Android device. WhatsApp has not yet switched on the voice calling feature for users on other platforms including iOS, but it plans on doing so in the near future. WhatsApp version 2.12.10 is live now and can be downloaded right away from the Tizen Store.
Editor's Note: The reason why Tizen has support for WhatsApp calls already is because WhatsApp on Tizen is an emulated version of the Android app, making it possible for Tizen users to enjoy the same new features that the Android version gets, without having to wait.
