Most major carriers in the United States have already rolled out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S5 but AT&T is yet to join the party. However the country's second largest carrier confirmed today that its subscribers won't have to wait any longer. The carrier is going to release Lollipop for the Galaxy S5 today. Just yesterday AT&T released Android 5.0.1 for the Galaxy S4.
The information comes straight from AT&T's official Twitter account which revealed in response to a query that the Lollipop update for the Galaxy S5 “will be released on 4/8/2015,” that's today. It hasn't been confirmed yet just when the update will be rolled out but since we now have a concrete date, it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours for the roll out to begin. We'll update you when it's released.
Update: AT&T has now released Lollipop for the Galaxy S5 and the update file weighs around 1.4 GB, so ensure that you're hooked up to a decent Wi-Fi connection before downloading it.
