AT&T, the second largest carrier in the United States, released Android 5.0 for the Galaxy Note 4 last month. It wasn't the first carrier in the country to get this update out the door but it ultimately did bring Lollipop to its subscribers and that's what really matters in the end. Galaxy Note 4 owners on AT&T are receiving a new over-the-air update today. No it's not Android 5.1, it's actually an incremental update that doesn't bump up the core Android OS version.
It brings an update for Private Mode settings, EAS fix for encryption bypass, Emergency Dial fix related to Lookout & Mobile locate as well as Google Security Patches. The update also removes Softcard which was a payments service backed by the country's major mobile carriers, Softcard will soon bite the dust completely after Google acquired the technology behind it. Today's update for the Galaxy Note 4 on AT&T comes in at just over 142MB.
