Samsung focuses a lot on cameras in its flagship smartphone, be it the Galaxy S series or the Galaxy Note series, and both its recently released smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge, have received positive reviews from all around the world for its camera quality. Now, Netherlands-based blog Smartcam Club, which is dedicated to smartphone photography, has reviewed the Galaxy S6 in an in-depth manner and compared it to some of the best and recent devices from the competition.
Praising the image quality of the Galaxy S6 in the conclusion of the comparison review, Marc said, “I'm not declaring complete victory for the Galaxy S6 just yet. But boy, it's a damn impressive smartcam you'll be buying.” He found that it was better than the recently released camera-focused smartphones from Nokia/Microsoft. However, he also critisized Samsung for not providing a way to change things like aperture and shutter speed even in its so called ‘Pro Mode' in the camera app. He also found that the shutter speed in the stock camera app on the Galaxy S6 doesn't go below the 1/7 second mark.
Commenting on the image quality of the Galaxy S6 in daylight, Marc states “Its low light results with flash were quite convincing already, but in great light the Galaxy S6 in fact blows the competition out of the water. At least from what I've seen it does perform better than the Lumia 1520 (like the Galaxy Note 4 outperformed the Lumia 930 in this comparison). It's certainly the best of the three recent Android smartphones in this test as well.“
