Sprint Spark Galaxy S4 gets the Lollipop update

Firmware

Last updated: April 17th, 2015 at 22:47 UTC+02:00

Sprint Spark was launched a couple of years back and for those who don't know, it's the carrier's enhanced tri-band LTE service that can only work with compatible devices. This is why Sprint launched a modified version of the Galaxy S4 so that it could be compatible with this data network, some of the other devices it was selling already had support for tri-band LTE. Today the carrier has released Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Sprint Spark Galaxy S4.

Android 5.0 version L720TVPUCOD1 is rolling out now for the Sprint Spark compatible Galaxy S4, the carrier has already updated the support page for this device to reflect this. Aside from upgrading the core Android OS this update also brings Samsung Factory Reset Protection to the device. Sprint has not updated the support page for the regular Galaxy S4 as yet so it's unclear right now when it intends to release Lollipop for that particular variant.
