Verizon joins the list of carriers in the United States who have recently released the Lollipop update for the Galaxy Tab S 10.5. First it was AT&T which sent out the update earlier this month and T-Mobile followed suit just a couple of days back. Today it's Verizon's turn and Big Red is rolling out Android 5.0.2 for the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 over-the-air. On the other hand Samsung released said update for the Wi-Fi only model of this tablet in March.
The OTA update, build T807VVRU1BOD2, is rolling out today as mentioned on Samsung's support site. Galaxy Tab S 10.5 users on Verizon will receive everything that is part and parcel of Lollipop, this includes the revamped user interface with Material Design elements, multiple new features, stability and performance improvements. Android 5.0.2 itself is an incremental update which includes some much needed bug fixes. Given that it has taken a considerable amount of time for this tablet to be updated from Android 4.4 to Lollipop, it goes without saying that users shouldn't expect Android 5.1 to drop in the near future.
