Samsung’s Galaxy Note and Galaxy Mega series bear testimony to the fact that Samsung never gets tired of large screens. So, it’s not surprising that a majority of the deals on Samsung Tab S tablets often favor the 10.5-inch Tab S instead of its “smaller” sibling.
At the same time, however, the Tab S 8.4 is an excellent tablet for its thinness, lightness, Android functionality, and Samsung’s own unique contributions. With that said, we’re pleased to bring you a sale on the Tab S 8.4 today from online retailers Amazon and Newegg.
Amazon and Newegg have the Tab S 8.4 (Wi-Fi version only here) on sale for $279, down from the original price tag of $399. This pertains to the 16GB version, not the 32GB, so you won’t have as much storage for the new price as you’d like. Still, you’re looking at an 8.4-inch, Super AMOLED display with Quad HD (2,560 x 1,600p) resolution, a 2.1MP front camera, 8MP back camera, Samsung’s Exynos 5 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, with the new 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard, Bluetooth 4.0, and runs Android 4.4 KitKat. The Tab S 8.4 (Wi-Fi) has been updated to Lollipop, so no worries there.
If you’re ready to get this tablet and experience Lollipop, now’s as good a time as any. Be sure to watch our review before you do, and preview Lollipop on the Tab S 8.4 if your curiosity's got the better of you.
