After launching it in Canada, Malaysia, Australia and some other countries, Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab A in India today. Along with the Galaxy Tab A, the company has also launched the Galaxy Tab E, which was announced in Taiwan earlier this week.
Samsung has priced the Galaxy Tab A and the Galaxy Tab E at INR 20,500 (~ $319) and INR 16,900 (~263) in India. The variant of the Galaxy Tab A that is launched in India features an 8-inch TFT display with a resolution of 1,024 x 768, a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 4G LTE cellular connectivity, and a 4,200 mAh battery. It is also equipped with a 5-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary camera.
The Galaxy Tab E features a 9.6-inch TFT display with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels, a 32-bit Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 3G connectivity, and a 5,000 mAh battery. It has the same camera configuration as the Galaxy Tab A, but it will be available exclusively through Flipkart by the end of this month.
Samsung is offering 2GB of cellular data for free for two months with the Galaxy Tab A and the Galaxy Tab E through its tie-ups with Airtel and Vodafone respectively.
