It's no secret that India is perhaps the most price sensitive market in the world, right up there with China. Which is why, mid-range phones that don't cost too much money become more important in the country than other markets, even for companies that have some killer flagships.
From what we're hearing, Samsung is gearing up to launch a total of 10 new mid-range devices in the 9,000-18,000 INR price bracket. This will mark Samsung's biggest ever rollout in the country, with the 10 launches scheduled to take place between July and September.
Data reveals that Samsung's market share fell from an impressive 43.2% to 23.7% in 2014 after domestic and Chinese OEMs upped their ante. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see if Samsung can win back the lost share (and then some more, perhaps) in the coming months.
